Subramaniam has been a print journalist since 1995, is currently Deputy Editor at The Hindu newspaper and is based in Chennai. International affairs and political economy are the principal areas on which he concentrates in his writings. Subramaniam holds a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics in political philosophy. He is often used to saying that real education begins only when formal education ends.
