Lakshmy Ramakrishnan is an award-winning Indian actress, producer and director. She made her debut in the Malayalam film ‘Chakkara Muthu’ (2006), and has since appeared primarily in Tamil films.

She has worked in television shows as well. She acted in the serial ‘Aval’ in STAR Vijay and hosted the reality show Solvathellam Unmai in Zee Tamil for which she won a lot of accolades.

In 2012, she completed her first feature film, ‘Aarohanam’, which received a Special Jury award at the 7th Vijay Awards. Her second directorial venture, ‘Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe’ is a story revolving around a petrol crisis. ‘Ammani’ was her third film. She was motivated to make the film after meeting an elderly ragpicker during her talk show and created a fictional story from her interaction with the woman.

Lakshmy has completed her fourth directorial venture titled ‘House Owner’ set against the backdrop of the 2015 Chennai floods. It is set to release soon
